Macy's Little Sisters

Well, I told you I'd fill you in on the twin's headband obsession...

There's not a whole lot to say..

Pretty much they know where she keeps them and will take any and every opportunity to get in to them and carry them around.

They will then come up to me, or her and yell "HA?! Ha?!" (for Haaat??) while handing it to us and patting their heads, they will not stop until we put it on them. As soon as we do they are happy as pie.

Macy is thinks this is fantastic.

Rag Tag Crew

These dreary, rainy days we've had lately have definitely taken their toll on us over here. I am not ashamed to admit there have been more than a couple days where the twins have not made it out of their pj's the whole day.

But really, I mean, if I could get away with wearing footie pjs all day long..would I ever choose anything different? There can't possibly be anything more comfortable.

Yes Cooper is wearing a headband. (More on the twins' headband obsession another day..) He would make a stinkin' cute girl though, no? Darn it all. :)

Seriously though, I have to tell you all. We may be a slightly disheveled crew these days, but I am becoming a huge fan of this 'four kids' thing. Both my big kids have a buddy at all times and when the big kids are doing 'big kid stuff' the twins are looving eachother to pieces. They play these games now where one lays down and the other falls on top of him. Or they chase eachother and give eachother hugs and trade toys. It's adorable.

I can't imagine if we hadn't had twins. One of these faces would have been missing and we might not have had the guts to go ahead and have a fourth. and then our picture would be lopsided. I guess God knew what our picture was supposed to look like after all and didn't want us going and chickening out before we had all our members.

And we do. Have ALL our members now. Just to be clear. :)

6 going on 16

Macy came in to my room at 6:30am the other day....

like this....

She was like, "Mom, I'm totally ready to go!"

And I was like, "Mace, you are TWO HOURS early."

And she was like, "No mom, it's fine you can just drop me off and I'll wait, I wanna be first in line cuz Demetri always beats me, and this morning I wanna beat him, so come on mom lets GO!"

There are no words.

Close your eyes and pretend it's December

I realized I never posted anything on here for Macy's 6th birthday and it was just such a blast I've always been bummed that it wasn't documented solely for the purpose of when these all get turned to photo books now I'll have the pics close by.

We do the every other year birthday party thing. At least we currently do. I have taken a solemn oath not to say 'I DO' anything anymore as though it could not up and change in an instant if I decided it wasn't working for our family anymore. To me it implies I have figured out HOW to do this raising a family thing and that is well.. a forever work in progress, and therefore so are all the things we do.

I digress.

This year was Macy's to get to have a friend party and to say she was suuuper excited is the world's greatest understatement. She wanted to have a 'Glamour Party' where they got to get dressed up, do hair and make-up and nails. My little party planner was extremely specific. So we set up stations and made it happen with the help of my friends Carly and Mikala. She also asked for a pink polka dot cake. Sweetheart that she is though, here's how she asked..

"Well, if I could have ANY cake I wanted I would want a pink polka dot cake, with pink inside and everything! But Mommy I know that's really really hard and I won't be sad or anything if you can't do it, it's just what I would want if you could."

Ha, after a request like that there was no way my baby girl wasn't getting a pink polka dot cake for her birthday! It was my first time ever trying fondant and I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was!

The most fun of all was that Ryan took all the boys away for the day and they left a couple hours before the party so Macy and I had the run of the house to set everything up in peace! We had a blast playing music and setting up and getting excited. She was going through her dress up box pulling things out to set around her room for friends who might want to use them and she came upon a bridesmaid dress I'd worn about 4 years ago in my sweet friend's wedding and didn't want to get rid of so I'd put it in Macy's box. I thought her eyes might completely bug out of her head when she saw it.

"MOMMY! This is HUGE! It's like YOUR SIZE!! Why thank you sweetheart :)

She begged me to put it on, begged and begged. Who can say no to their precious little girl who is growing up all too fast? What mom denies their daughter the indulgence of silliness and giggles over seeing their mom dressed in a frilly princess dress? Not me! I put that thing on and we had a ball!

Sweet Macy Grace. I am adoring these moments with you. Happy WAY belated birthday.

Disney on Ice!

A few weeks ago a sweet sweet woman from our church asked me if I would be able to make use of 10 box seat tickets to Disney on Ice that coming Friday morning.

Um... yah, I think I could do that.

YAY!

I quickly set to work asking the kids who they'd like to invite and began making plans. Thankfully we tend to make friends with people just as irresponsible as us so there was no problem in the "so you're cool with signing your kid out of school today to go watching disney characters skate around?... SWEET, me too!" area. :)

And BOX SEATS? Yes please! We had our own room, bathroom, counter and sink and little balcony like row of seats for all the kids while we moms sat on our comfy swivel chairs behind them! Awesome.

cue fuzzy iphone pics...

Carter and Anna. Were there EVER a pair more perfectly matched? This friendship is proving to be one of life's sweet surprise blessings. Carter L.O.V.E.'s Anna.

Toy Story. By far the highlight.

The only bummer of the whole thing was that they had to go throw the Nightmare before Christmas stuff in there too so a good 15 minutes of the show was all dark and scary. Carter hated it, like really couldn't handle it, he got all quiet and came and sat on my lap to wait it out. When it kept on going he asked to leave. We ducked into our bathroom but you could still hear the spooky noises so he covered his ears and asked me to sing 'Cita's Song' which is a song I sing him when he wakes up from nightmares to help him get back to sleep. Sweet boy. The dichotomy of his rough n tumble nature and his extremely sensitive spirit make my head spin. Daily.

And finally, The Three Musketeers. Joey, Macy and Olivia. These kiddos have been buddies for the past couple years and even though they all three go to different schools now they have not wavered in their enjoyment of each other. They are still very much at the top of each others lists...and I SO hope it stays that way! (Poor Sebastian somehow escaped my camera, sweet boy, he fits into BOTH these pics perfectly! Sorry Baz!)

Fun day all around!
